| G'day everyone, I'm new to your chat forum, and I'm about to buy my first bike....
I love Harley's in general, but fell absoultey in love with what turned out to be a 2000 FXSTS...
When I started looking for these in the classified, they looked completely different....
My question is, the one I have fallen in love with has (I think!), a shortened rear fender and solo seat, can someone tell me?
Although I dont want to completely copy this bike, its the overall "look" that I'm after.
I'm asking for assistance from a couple of you: if I were to email you a pic of this bike, can you tell me what mods have been made?
Many thanks,
Lucas |

| You can post the picture here and most folks would be happy to look and give thoughts, no shortage of opinions just use the icon above the section you type in that looks like a small yellow square with a mountian and sun on it. |

| Guys,
Thanks for the PM's - I've sent you emails attaching the picture....
Like I was saying, this is "the look" I'm after.....If this is a late model FXSTS, can I achieve the same look with an earlier model (i.e, can any modifications, if necessary, be made to all models)?.....
Thanks guys, you're a great help...

| Thanks for that!
I think I've just successfully uploaded the pic of the bike I'm in love with! haha
Seriously tho, this is the look I want, but I dont know if its a stock FXSTS, a modified FXSTS, or a Deuce....
Can anyone tell me please?
Given that this is the look I'm after, can I achieve this look with an earlier model FXSTS, or other model??.....Seems to have shortened rear fender & solo seat, but if I could get this "look" from an earlier bike thats cheaper to buy to start with, I'll be happy.... :-)
Thank you all, much appreciated.......

| From the picture you sent I think it's a softail springer and they cut the rear fender down and cut off the stock struts, welded on new struts probably home made. Then gutted the light assembly out of the stock rear bobtail fender, notice all the holes in the side of the fender below the strut
Any softail standard or springer would be a candidate for this.
Of course the OL isn't going to be happy riding on that shorty fender LOL |
