Get it on a solid support.
Remove the wheel and secure the caliper/ speed drive back toward the frame to get it out of the way.
Loosen the clamps and work the tubes back and forth to unstick them. You might have to do some twisting and use some WD40 but if possible do not use a screwdriver to wedge open the clamps.
After you yank out the tubes and remove the trees inspect / clean the races and bearings and replace if there are any signs of wear. This is the easiest time to do it and since neck bearings do wear consider just replacing them and the races. Get all of the old dried out grease out of the neck and slop in new grease. When you install the lower tree make sure the dust cover is aligned and not cocked. Install the upper tree (dust cover) and nut but leave the stem nut a little loose so you can work the upper and lower tree separately. I am not talking sloppy loose just wiggle loose. Spray some WD40 on the tubes and the inside of the clamps and start working the legs in one at a time. This is really a two person job if possible as it makes life a whole lot easier.
Set the fall away, stem nut torque etc all per you service manual.
Double check then check again and go test.
