My father in law has a 1983 Sportster 1000, its been sitting for about 6 years properly stored.
We tried to fire it up...we have power to the ignition and to the starter but she doesn't make fire. we are not electrical guys...we need help!
Also the highbeam and taillight work but the oil light does not come on with the ignition???

Fuses maybe, but is the bike properly grounded?

We took your advice and started looking around
found a short in the electrical system and she Took Right Off!!
