I recently purchased a set of vance and hines straightshots for my wifes 2005 883. They taper from about an inch to nothing at rear of pipes. they look terrible. Anyonelse have this problem.

I had problems with my son's '00 1200 also. I figure they have changed the pipes for the '05. I had to loosely assemble everything and then rotate the pipes and wiggle them a bit until they were pretty much parallel. I don't know if that is possibe with the new ones.

As Desert Rat said, you should be able to adjust them a bit if you leave everything loose then move them around until they look right and tighten them partialy, step back and make any other adjustments before tightening completely. The should be evenly spaced all the way back. Vance & Hines makes a good quality product and they should fit as advertised. I've seen literally dozons of these and they all look fine. If not, and it is not an installation issue, I would think they would happily replace them. It may be possible that one pipe got bent during transport somehow or you may have the wrong pipes or something. If I remember correctly, I believe they have a technical support number somewhere in the paperwork. May I also suggest some thread lock on the mounting bolts?

Good Luck.

You meant the spacing between pipes?
Loosen everything up including the exh studs. Line it all up and tighten from rear to front.
