After reading as much info as I could find and having a similar chance to adjust my own, here is what worked well on my stock 05 FLHTC with SE air box and Hooker adjustable slip ons.
2 washers shim up the stock needle, to richen up the off idel to mid-range, stopped that annouying popping when accelerating from idle. Polish the slide up with steel wool, helped improve throttle responce. Change the pilot jet to a 46, 1 size bigger then stock, remove the plug and re-adjust the idle air screw 2.5 out to start. I left the main jet stock, mine is 190 and pulls good at WOT.
This really woke mine up with an avg of 42MPG and the best part is the total cost was almost 30 cents

.
Good luck,
Cracker
