Hi there,
I am looking for an answer to my bike problem maybe someone here can help.
Have an '85 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 N with, a bike with an awesome 4-in-line
japanese engine that used to run great. Actually it needed a little bit of choke
to run smoothly which was annoying but not a big deal. Than suddenly it started dying on me if I stopped quickly or just left it idling. So the first thing I could think of was carbs, I opened them, cleaned carefully, put new gaskets on the connections to the cylinders too, so there is no vacuum leak and thought - that should be it! But, now it idles really unevenly and what's even stranger when I
pull the choke it dies! I have a feeling that I'm pretty close here but just can't
figure out the problem. Because the vibration is now greater I suspect it might
be the carb synchronization but I haven't checked that yet. Anyone has any ideas
why this could be happening?
Thank you all very much! |
