A buddy of mine has a Revtech "Scorpion" rear wheel on his evo softail. He recently bought a chrome cover for the belt sprocket, and when the mech removed the sprocket to install the cover, he noticed that the hub doesn't seem to have the "lip" the sprocket fits onto. It has the bolt holes for the stock bolts, so it's attached pretty firmly, but we're wondering if this is safe, or even normal.

Is this standard with Revtech wheels or did the guy who installed the wheel do something strange?

Is it safe to ride in this condition?

OFF TOPIC: the service manual says "belt sprocket" but everyone I know says "pulley". Any difference?

The belt sprocket and pulley are the same device.
