| I broke the plastic finger tightened knob which controls tension on the cable and I need to replace the cable. How does it hook to the Mikuni 42mm carb?
Help? |

| It should be connected very much like the original would have been. Once you disconnect it from the bracket where the screw is broken, you should be able to remove it from the carb fairly easily. Follow it to the carb. It is screwed into it with a small plastic nut at the end. It should not be very tight. You should be able to get it started with needle nose pliers. Then you should be able to unscrew it by hand. Try not to damage the nut too much. Also keep track of the little pieces. You might need to reuse them.
FYI you can use a stock cable as long as you change the spring and the piece (I can't think of what it's called) at the end of the cable that goes into the carb.
It's been a while since I've had to do it but I know it is all in the Mikuni instruction booklet. I think I may still have mine at home. I'll take a look tonight and see. If I do I will scan the page and e-mail it to you.
