This is a repeat post from earlier threads.... You can see a picture of these pipes on my bike, a 2001 FXD, in at

I like a nice low throaty growl from the pipes, but did not want to sacrifice low and mid range. I bought the V&H Big Shots before I asked any questions and knew anything about the differences in available exhaust. The Big Shots were on the bike for a total of three days before I pulled them. They looked great, as all V&H do, but
with baffles they were louder than some pipes running without baffles. I wanted better sound and performance without being obnoxious. So I pulled them off the bike, sold them and did some research. I went with the Hooker step tuned race style staggered exhaust. I could tell a big performance difference right away and I like their sound a lot better, unlike the higher frequency sound I got with the Big Shots. Just do some research along with the great advice given in Bike Talk.
Additionally, these pipes performed a lot better than the V&H and I could feel the increase in low and mid power range.
