| Howdy folks, when I pull into someplace on my cycle I’d like for people to turn and look at my bike because it’s nice, not because of whirl-squeal-squeal-whirl-squeal-squeal.
This next payday I plan on getting rid of my cheap-a$$ brake pads and buying a couple sets of lyndall brake pads from D.P. (good prices).
My question is this, should I get the gold or the Z’s.
Is there really a difference? I know you have to season/break-in the gold pads.
Does anyone prefer one over the other, if so why? Thanks. |

| I just got the Z pads. They are the best choice. Put them on and zip silent. I did clean up my rotors with 180 grit to remove all left over from old pads. I had squeal and more before. Now silent. I do not know about Gold pads but you will not go wrong with Z.... After installing them right off the Start great! |

| Unless you race, or have a very very high perf application, or, your brakes like my 6 piston PM fronts only come with gold as an option, go with the Z-pad they are for the street, and don't require break in like the gold pads. |

| Thanks HRK and S.N., I heard good reports on both pads, I was just wondering what the real difference was, no break-in sounds good to me. I am SOOOO tired of that squeal/squeek, and I have got to do something about it. I would love to get them 6-piston P.M. calipers but, there way out of my budget.

| Well yeah but with a single caliper on the front of the heritage I had to have plenty of stopping power, running my HP you got to be able to stop! |
