I'm trying to lower my wifes 01 Fatboy and could not get the OEM adjustment bolts out of the shocks. Is there a trick to this? I got a good deal on the kit but did not get any instructions.
Sux to be me sometimes.

Roadkingjt, I do believe that subject was just talked about a few weeks ago. Check some of the previous threads, and if it’s not there, I’m certain someone will be come along and be able to help you within a short time.
I'm not a softailer.

What brand/type of kit are we talking about???

I can recommend trying a little heat via propane torch on frozen bolt/nut--Have
patience it really works! Also, sometimes the use of MAPP gas instead propane
works even better.(burns hotter than propane)*I do recommend you do this
procedure outside.(well ventilated area)

Stock soft tail rear shocks do not have height adjustment. The 'bolt' that I think you are trying to remove is the actuator rod. It is under a bunch of spring pressure and will lay you in the weeds if you get it loose without the proper clamps. STOP! check with someone that knows what they are doing.

Look at some Progressive 413's.

Or take the shocks with the new bolt's to a cycle shop or HD ship AND PAY 30 BUCKS TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED.

I DID THAT, VERY EASY.
