How many miles can you expect to get out of an EVO engine?

Dealer i talked to said if you change the oil and do all the scheduled maintenance on time that you can get 100,000 miles out of an EVO.

Do you agree? or disagree? How many miles have some of you gotten out of them?

I only ask because i bought my first Harley ever (a used 1995) a few months ago and was wondering how long it will last?

Your dealer is right when he says you can get over 100,000 miles on and evo. The key is to always follow your maint. schedule to the "T". The next important thing to keep in mind is to keep it stock to get the most life out of the motor. The more tricks that are put into a motor, Bigger bored out heads, high energy cams, etc. It will take life from the motor. Ride Safe, David.

Getting over 100K is pretty common. To me, it would depend on your riding style, and of course the preventive maintenance.
I really don’t plan on getting a whole lot more miles past 50-60K or so, my cycle is regularly subjected to excessively high rpm’s and other abuses.

Me too Well, at least untill they get warmed up anyway.

The EVO engine will love long and prosper when fed a healthy diet especially Synthetic, kept cool and observe proper warm up procedures.

Most blown gaskets on EVO's could be traced right back to the expansion rate of the cylinders. Allowing an EVO to warm up properly is right up there with good oil and an oil cooler..... Now, if I could a convince a certain blonde I know to let it warm ip before riding hard, I'd be all set....

Watch it! I mean the EVO you dirty minded Bikers.
