I need to lower the bike about 1" for comfort and safety. My question is; has anyone installed the Touring Low Profile shocks that the dealer offers. I have not seen many after market altertaives to the HD versionm of this shock.

I am a little leary of using one of the lowering kits that uses the stock rear shocks and incorporates a milled/machined gizmo that drops the rear shock down and inch or so. I would be less hesitant to try this if most of my riding was not two-up-

Any insight would be appreciated-

I've got the HD shorter shocks for my Electra Glide...they're OK but will bottom out two up on some of the rough stuff. Works Performance makes nice stuff..used 'em on Harleys and BMW's and Progressive Suspension shocks are good as well. I'd shoot CD an email and he'd be able to set you up with a shock that'll fit your bike. There are kits for the front suspension as well. If you do that you'll likely have to look at a shorter jiffy stand. I didn't lower the front on my bike..just the rear and while the 3/4 inch doesn't seem like a lot it made a huge difference in supporting the bike with a passenger on it..it does bite into the cornering clearance though...but then, how fast do you go on a Harley anyway?
