I just bought a 2006 Road Glide. I want an intercom, but not the one available for the Advanced Audio System (AAS) (too many extras need to be purchased). I'm looking at the IntaRide RP1 Duo or the Starcom1 Advanced. Here's the issue....I want to tap into the AAS' rear speaker output and run that to the RP1 or Starcom’s music input connector. I found the connector I need, but it taps into the speaker wires with wiretap connectors. I would rather find the OEM style connectors Harley uses. Who makes or where can I buy the OEM style weatherproof connectors used on the AAS harness? Additionally, does anyone know how this AAS system is installed? Would I need the AAS wiring harness that allows the connection of additional AAS devices, which includes the rear speakers (which is why I want OEM style connectors), or will I find rear speaker wires running to the speaker switch on the forks or from the radio? I haven’t attempted to pull the fairing apart to check all of this out… “yet”, so any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I have figured out the connector issue. The connectors I've found on the FLTRI are Deutsch Connectors and the website is http://www.deutschipd.com/. So far I have found these connectors on the radio harness and the bike's electrical harness. So that is no longer an issue and I know what and where to order when the time comes.

I still need to know the wiring of the AAS speaker outputs. I don't want to spend $126 for the wiring harness just to have access to the rear speaker outputs. I can splice into the front speakers as a last resort. Anyone have anymore info on this new audio system?

if you look in your service manual........you got it ,,,,,right???
near the rear of the book is all the schematics and photos of locations of the different components. have fun!!!!

No, I've only had the bike for three weeks, so I haven't ordered the service manual yet. It's on the very long list of items to purchase over the next month or so.

the most important tool in the box is the manual......in my opinion it should be the first item of purchase after the bike!!!!!! the parts manual would be next, as it shows breakdowns of the different parts.....a bit more detailed than the manual

Narrowed the choice down to the Intaride RP1 Duo intercom. A lot more for the money and $100 cheaper than the Starcom1 Advance and over $1600 cheaper than all the parts that would be needed to use the AAS intercom system (intercom mudule - $105; Harness - $125; Speaker pods - $450+; rigid mount tourpac - $700-900; plus whatever other crap required to buy to make a simple intercom work). Since it is being delivered from England, I ordered the service manual so it'll be here before the intercom. That way I can figure out the best way to mount all the wiring and where I'll make all the connections.
I have the manual for my 2001 FXD and it definately makes life easier when working on it. I was just hoping there was a HD tech that had the answer to my question to help make the intercom choice easier.
