I have a 2006 FLSTNI (Deluxe) which I got last October. While riding,the handle bars are off center about a half inch.(right side lower than left side). The bike handles ok,but knowing that something is out of whack is annoying. At a stand still it appears that the riser is off center or bent.( no, never dropped it). Anybody else had this problem ? Any ideas on the fix? thanks.

Well, since it's an 06 and under warranty.....I have a bit over 800 Miles on my new 06 Dyna, so far it blew a turn signal bulb on the way home from the dealer and afer about 200 miles the headliight developed a rattle. Turns out it was the rivets that attach the housing to the mount. Now that problem happens and theres several ways of fixing it. Drill them out and pop rivet them, use small bolts and nuts, etc...but with a new bike it was: the headlight rattles, put me on a new one. If you haven't laid it down...I would be dealer bound...Ride Free

I Pulled My Front End For Longer Forks, And Put On New Bars, And After All Was Back Together It Seems Like My Bars Tweek Forward Farther On One Side. I Measured Out The Bars And They Are Center I'm Thinking Maybe The Risers Are Rotated Off Center From Tighting Them Down Where They Sit About 5 Deg. Off. Or Maybe One Arm Is Just Shorter Than The Other?

The dampener bushings can take a set and when you remove and reinstall risers they may have rotated. Cheap insurance to replace riser bushings when doing work like that. Beter yet, install Polyurethane bushings as they last about forever.

Skipper:
The riser can also get cocked during install or, the tree may be out of tweak I would take it to the dealer.

Take Her In? Come On Guys, Something Like That I'd Rather Do Myself. If It's Not Over A 50$ Job The Warrentee Ain't Worth It! I Took Her In For A Primary Gasket Once 50$ So Instead I Just Went Over To Parts And Spent 25$ And Did It Myself. Could Have Done It Cheaper If I Wanted To Wait On It From A Catalog. So Sometimes It's Just Easyer To Do It Yourself If You Don't Mind Getten Dirtty. I Wish Now I Wouldn't Have Gotten That Pcmp, But I Couldn't Pass Up Lettin Someonelse Do The Dirty Work ,but Sometimes The Wait Is A Real Inconvenece Plus The Total Price Out. Could Have Saved Alot Of Money.

If it is under warranty there is no cost involved.

Maybe On The 1st Year But, On The Extended Every Time I'v Wanted Them To Fix Something They Want 50$ . Most Extream Case, If I Blow The Engine It's 50$ For A New One. Why I Don't Know But I Think It's Kindda F Up That I Paid For A Warrentee And Still Keep On Pay'in. They Don't Care It's Just About The Money!

The Deductable For Both New Motorcycles And Used Motorcycles Is Fiffty Dollars. The Deductable Applies To Each Repair Visit And Is The Amount Of The Repair Cost That You Must Pay. The Deductable Does Not Apply To Rental, Pickup, Or Travel Lodging Reimbursment Coverages.

Thanks guys for the responses to my post. I do plan to take it to the dealer,but I wanted to get some input on possible causes, so i don't get BS'd when i take it in. (you all know that story) !! Thanks to your help,at least I can sound somewhat educated on what may be the problem. This is a great forum . Hope I can help somebody else in the future and up my "status" from "training wheels" !!!!

The whole extended plan is a load of....But, if you will look at the original post, he purchased it in October of '05. He is still under factory warranty.

I'd bring the bike in ..while the original warranty is in place. I'm not a big fan of extended service plans but there are some issues with the Twin Cam and I don't have enough miles on mine to know whether or not it's a good one..it's noisy. I'll keep it serviced up and the fluids fresh and when it does get opened up it's gonna cost them more than the fifty it costs me. I got the ESP for a Saturn a few years ago and I'm glad I did....saved a pile of money on repairs.
