Madmax; From what I've read , the 8 degrees have 3 ports in the cone while the 25 "s have 6 ports. So I assume more fuel is being injected. You can view the service bulletin on one of the previous posts on this topic. Skipperm

No. According to my stealer, it is just a matter of the angle that the injectors squirt fuel. The 8 degree on a 2006 engine seems to cause hesitation sometimes. The 8 degree seems to have worked fine for everything pre-2006. The download that the stealer does after the injector change-out IS NOT a performance upgrade according to my stealer. It just tells the ECU that you are using injectors that have a different squirt angle.

According the DJ powercommander site, they are saying thier maps were done on the 8 degree injectors, and if you have the new part it will cause a slight rich condition in the mid and high range.

On or around February 13, 2006 Harley Davidson altered the production line of Big Twins with updated fuel injectors and an ECM upgrade. This update will affect the fuel mapping of the stock bike and also of the Power Commander maps developed up to May 2006.
These maps include:

Up to M805-221 for part #805-511
Up to M807-236 for part #807-511
Up to M811-005 for part #811-511
If you have the update performed and are using a map previous to this date you may find that your bike runs slightly rich. An easy adjustment is to use the buttons on the faceplate of the Power Commander. Lean the midrange button by 2 light bars and the high range button by 1 light bar.
All maps developed after May 2006 will have the update performed.

Well, I would rather my bike run a bit rich (until adjusting the PCIII) than lean! That would make you think that the flash is richer than the stock 88 flash, wouldn't it? Maybe they were caught leaning the 2006's out for the EPA to a point where it started not to work well and they might as well bump the engine up to a 96" and start over for 2007!

Since I bought my '06 in October '05 this might become a problem on mine too.
So far have had a few cases of popping while riding and stall after cold startup, not sure if it's related, but seems like the new injectors might fix potential problems.[/quote]

I have similar problems with my 04. Not saying its the same problems, but do you know if there are any service bulletins regarding softail std 2004 with EFI?
I have problems at idle and at cruise.
