Hello ALL,
What brake pads are working the best these days? I'm changing out the rear pads on my 05FLHT. They are not shot but real shinny and developed that whine so they got to go...

I tried the stock ones again, but they begain to squeal about 500 miles on them. I changed them out, to aftermarket sold by Drag specialties, sorry can't remember the name of the brand. It was a softer pad, and they said it wouldn't last as long and to be watching them closely. I've put 5k on it since, not one squeal. Pads are wearing a bit faster than stock, but not that noticeable.

Whatever pad it was, they were stocking them at my local stealership. I'll be in the Wed, and can check if you need, or someone else might know on this site. good chance you could get the same pad right here on Driect Parts, if I could only remember.

Knew I'd need those brain cells someday......

Simple answer IMHO LRB or Lyndall Racing Brakes. Z-Pads for normal use, rotor friendly, great stopping power. Gold pads (Carbon Kevlar) are excellent for high performance use or for those with big feet like me You get better braking and wear is improved plus, no damage like sintered metal pads cause.

Thanks for the info!

I replaced them with the LRB Z pads. After some miles I'll give some feedback.

Thanks again & keep the rubber side down...
