Was just looking at the prices for some true dual headers.....LOVE the looks and price of the VANCE & HINES TRUE DUAL HEADERS FOR BAGGER MODELS here on DP!!! I guess that I had always been looking at a true dual "combo set" that included the mufflers....I didn't realize that the headers were so much less!!! Guess what I am going to be saving up for when I go to the desert this summer/fall??!! now for the "tech" part of this thread.... are there any special tools, equipment, knowlege, etc that I would need to do this job myself??? would hate to get into the project...have everything pulled apart then have to load all into a truck or something to get someone else to fix my mess!! CD, too bad you are located so far from San Antonio...would just stop by sometime, have them put on, and dyno tuned!!!

Overall the project doesn't look hard...just take time to prevent messing up the chrome. I'll be installing the Dresser Duals on Thursday...providing the UPS site didn't lie about expected delivery date...maybe they come early....pleaseeeeeee

Here is a link to the V&H install instructions: http://www.vanceandhines.com/download/D435IN.pdf

Pretty straight forward with basic tools and torque wrenches. I also ordered the James Gaskets to replace the stock gasket as mentioned in step 5 of the install. I used them on my Dyna's exhaust install and like them better than the OEM versions.

Well, the pipes arrived on the 8th and I started the install. Took me about 2.5hours while I took my time. The only speciality tool I saw that you will need is a crowfoot wrench or a stubby wrench for the rear cylinder lower exhaust flange nut. With the curve of the V&H pipe you cannot get a socket on it.

Here is my setup now:
2006 FLTRI with the following mods

SE II slip-ons
Vance & Hines Dresser Duals
SE air Cleaner
Stage 1 ECM

The SE IIs are now a lot louder and in stereo.

I am running a modified version of the M807-180. So far it is working pretty good. Monitoring it for mpg now. Here is a link to the map:
Custom Map

Anyone running the above combo that has had a full custom dyno map done? If so I would like to compare the fuel and ignition table to this map. Thanks.

Before you order the V&H head pipes and then a set of mufflers, look at the new Big Shot Duals for Dressers. They are one piece from the head to the tailpipe. I just put a set on my street glide and they look great.
