my bros sporty has a crane hi4 single fire ignition.He burned up the coil and bought a new coil.The bike starts but only runs on the rear cylinder.The front has a weak spark.When he smoked the first coil could he have damaged the ignition module?If so how do you trouble shoot this problem?Also does he have to use different plug wires with this ignition, or can he use stock wires?Where can we get the original installation instuctions for the crane hi4 single fire ign for the 79 sporty?

You must use resistor type wires and resistor plugs. You also must use a low ohm coil. Before you fry everything, stop and go to:

Check the date code for the correct one. Remember, you are converting from a points based ignition to an electronic type and everything must match.
