| CRANKING UP THE PIGLET YESTERDAY, BEEN AWHILE IN THESE NECK OF THE WOODS MONTHLY WARM UP, I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT ROCKERBOX WAS HOT HOT TO THE TOUCH AND THE BACK ONE WAS JUST WARM. THIS KEPT FOR THE HOLE 20 MIN OF IDLE. SO IS THIS A NORMAL THING FOR ONE JUG RUNNING HOTER THAN THE OTHER? ALSO THE FRONT PIPE IS WHERE I GET THE BLUEING NONE ON THE BACK. |

| It is normal on a Harley V Twin for the front cyclinder to be run a little warmer then the back, but what you describe is somewhat extreme and would have me looking for other reasons. |

| If I read this right you are letting the motor idle for 20 mi, first I would say you need a fan moving some air over the motor for that long a period of time. Also at idle you have low oil pressure as well as slow flow which may have something to do with the hot spots. I think I would use a fan and a fast idle on a air cooled motor for a long warm up period of time. Dutch |

| ONE IN FRONT ONE IN BACK COOLING I DON'T THINK IS A ISSUE SINCE IT'S ONLY LIKE 20 DEG, NO HEAT IN THE GARAGE. WHEN I WAS IN TUCSON, IT WAS MORE OF A CRANK UP AND GO. ONE FACTOR I DID'NT METION WAS THAT I'M RUNNIN DRAGS AND A FREE FLOW AIR CLEANER. ( THIS IS WHERE I GET ALL THE RE-JETTIN ANSWERS). SO NO I HAVE'NT RE-JETTED. ONLY ANOYING THING TO THAT IS A LITTLE POPPI'N AND HESITATION USUALLY IN 2 ND. |

| If you changed to drags and a free flow air cleaner and haven't re-jetted, you're probably running lean, which would cause the extra heat (well some anyway, not sure how much) you need to properly re-jet and then see if it's still doing the same thing. |

| I'll second these responses, your first order of business needs to be to rejet for those pipes and aircleaner. I'd start by bumping up your idle jet by 1 and don't make any other changes until you get the idle dialed in. Once you get your Harley running richer if you don't see a change then you can start to diagnose from there.
Even though you are warming up your bike in a freezing cold garage, moving air is still more efficient at heat transfer. |

| One other minor detail is Valve adjustment. Sure made my old Iron head run hot. |
