| so about a month ago, i had my bike in the shop having a lot of stuff done, that needed to be done, most of it was mechanical to bring the bike up to date, top end, bigger alternater, yoda yoda yoda.......
but the 2 things i added, that to me were just about looks.......has changed everything......i cant go anywere now, or park the bike without sombody making a comment, befor i was just another bike in the crowd......
i added those ganster white walls, as my son calls them, and a set of 6" boom cans for mufflers, and the booom cans do stick out........
the first question i get is .........ARE THEY LOUD!!!!
wich by the way they are not!!!!
talk about a conversation peice.......my only complaint is that they drag when leaning heavy, drop offs........those are ugly scrapes......smirking
when i first got them, i was gonna take them off because of the scraping,
but once everybody and there mother started askin about them, i just changed my riding style, just because i love the attention my old 85 tour glide gets....................
funny thing is.my old bike never got comments before then.........kind makes me proud now.......most people come up and say i had an old.........and the stories start.......wich i enjoy anyway.......
my digtal camera went down ,and at this time i have a lot on my plate, trucks in the shop, kid needs glass's, and so on
hoping to take some pics soon.so i can post them here
just for the record 5 days 6 hours 12 minutes................with out a ciggerette, after 26 years of smoking ,quit cold turkey and yess my family is very scared!!!!!! at some point it has to get better but i did save over 50 bucks this week by not smoking...............
guys have a great day!!! |

| Good luck with the no smoking thing TRG. It's about 100 days for me now.
100 days and only gained about 100 lbs. Smoked about 30 years though.
It's funny how when you quit smoking it seems like everybody smokes.
Makes it tough to quit, especially when some sweetie is lighting up.
Of course when you do smoke you feel like a criminal sometimes.
But you sure notice how them things smell when you quit. |

| This year, I've been quit for 40 years.....longer than many of you have been alive. It's the best thing I could have possibly done for my health and I feel like I can do anything now that I could when I quit. Probably can't... but I feel like I could and that should count for something. Seriously, believe it or not, you have the hardest part over. The first few days were the hardest for me. Once you get the real craving over, it's just a matter of breaking the habit. There's a lot of patches and pills that weren't around when I made the break but I would use anything to stay off the smokes. You will never regret it. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
I'm having a set of V&H BSS installed now along with the SERT. I'm expecting great things.

| Stay quit TRG, I quit in 1987, after smoking for 12 years. Did it cold turkey....got tired of coughing up lung chunks every morning. Ditto with Slimjim, feel like I can do anything, and no, probably can't! But I feel better for sure and those things smell like **** to me, even to this day. GOOD LUCK |

| I quit in AUgust of 1990, about 1 month before i started college (was 30 when that happend). After smoking for about 20 years, I did the cold turkey thing. The first 10 days were the hardest, after that it was all mental... Good luck and if I can do it, anyone can do it!!! |

| I quit smoking some 7 or 8 years ago. I still partake in a dip now and then, like now and then when I get off work. LOL |

| Been smoke free for 39 years and 10 days, my wife has 39 years and 16 days but who's counting? Realize that what you save besides your health is enough money to support a NEW motorcycle and more and be happy. Tooth-picks helped me in the beginning and she knitted like crazy for a year. Good luck on this it is VERY important. Regards, Jack |
