Bought new grips for my '03 Roadking. Changed the left side. How on earth do you change the right (throttle) side? Thanks!

Both sides have a raised rib that goes inside the half-shells of the switch assemblys. You will need to loosen the throttle cable slack adjusters all the way...then loosen the screws in the switch housings, disengage the throttle cables and install the new one...readjust the throttle cables...its simple..and if you bought Harley grips as my friend did you should have the instructions in with the grips.

If you are going to do stuff on the bike, even just changing out parts, you ought to go to the dealer and get a Service Manual for your model.

It has all the information you need to work on different things, from simple stuff like changing bulbs to more complicated things like motor rebuilding.

It also has images that show you what to do.

You have to open the clamshell swtich housing, then loosen the throttle cable adjusters, then turning the throttle one way or the other will allow you to remove the cable with the brass connector, they are not attached to the cables so be careful you don't drop them as they always fall into the tightest areas and become darn near unretrieveable.

Next slip on new grip and reverse, adjust cables.
