| 1996 Electra Glide Classic Fuel Injection At times on acceleration the bike hesitates and then at time it will not idle back down. It revs up to about 4000 rpm. After a few minutes it will idle down. I have had it serviced and tuned up about 200 miles ago. What could be causing this problem? |

| Today is the first time the idle has run wild. It has been hesitating since I bought the bike about 2 months ago. |

| with efi you need to put a good cleaner in once in a while .,I use the lucus fuel treatment best I have found , small bottle is about $3, buck's at most auto part's store , good for about 4-5 tanks , it cleans the very small fuel feeder holes after about the first tank full run out you will notess the difference , I have used it for years in any engine's I have ie lawn mowers to18 wheelers

| intake leak will cause the high idle problem on a carbed model, but not sure with the new efi's. the leak could be at the carb to intake or intake to head. to replace the hi pressure line they were there and could have disturbed one of them....that is where i would check first...keep us informed

| Can't recal do you have the MM efi system? Pretty sure you would, in any event if so there is a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
Dealer can put it on a scan tool and check it for volts and make sure it's in range MM's are good when they are setup right and a PIA when they are not.

| I took the bike to the harley shop. It was the engine temperature sensor causing the surging and hesistation. |

| glad they got it worked out for you.....sometimes the puter systems are a pia.......without the equipment, you can trouble shoot all day and never find the true problem........
