|  Tool kit
So, I know this will get interesting.... I am looking for a small tool kit to go on my bike.... I am thinking about getting one of those screwdrivers that the blades pull out and you can change from phillips to flat and have a few different sizes of each...... maybe a few zip ties, some loc tight......what else would cover MOST roadside repairs? I am not going to spend the 150 or whatever they charge for the "factory tool kit" and want to have wrenches (standard, allen, and torques) that REALLY are needed for a 2004 E Glide Standard....(looked in the service manual for a tools list...they have one, but it is for the BIG tools/specialty tools, not the "hand tools") Thanks for the input! 
So, the list as I see it so far:
Loc Tight
zip ties
changeable screwdriver
Small cressent wrench?
Larger cressent wrench?
allen wrenches (but not sure which sizes)
torques bits (again, not sure which sizes)?

| a couple of recomendations
torx and allen can be bought in the little foldup with all the standard sizes or the screwdriver you are talking about you can get a little accessories pouch that will work wiith the screwdriver. also you can get the set goes with the leatherman.has all the goodies and is very compact.
a small pair of v-grips (you can get this in the leatherman multitool by the way) which then you have a knife, stripper (not the female type  ), punch, etc..
a small wind of 16 ga wire(that will run from the front to the back of your bike is all I care)
a couple of fuses
as for the cresents 1 small one and I prefer the end wrench that ratchets. goes from 3/8 to 3/4 any thing bigger will probably be more of a major repair.
a roll of electric tape(in a plastic case)
another thing I carry is a plastic bag that carrys a plastic bag with my insurance, registration, and a copy of the trouble shooting pages of the manuel, operators manuel.
a small first aid kit, bandades, safty barrier,stuff like that.
and sounds like a lot but you can get it all in a leather tool pouch easily

10mm comb wrench......battery bolts
3/8-13/16 comb wrenchs
small cresent,med. cresent
torx bits for driver handle
allen bits for same handle
asst screw driver tips for same handle
visegrips
pliers,needle nose also
med. size leatherman
test light
voltmeter
wire,14ga
wire,locking
tie wraps/small,long
tape
2 sparkplugs
plugwrench
special homemade screwdriver-adj lowspeed on carb
shakeup flashlight/small
rags
digital airpressure gauge/shocks
my spare fuses are under the fuse holder on left side of bike
under the other cover there is a ton of room for other stuff, just havet filled it up yet
i may add to this when i take a look....brainfarts alot!!!

| Dont forget: A flashlight with fresh batteries. I have the "Harley-Davidson" small tool kit that I keep of the front of my trees under the headlight...It wont hold alot but it holds enough...the flashlight is basically a penlight & I have screwdrivers, allen wrenches, torx wrenches a swiss army knife, bungees, & now some tape !!

Yup, Plugs and a plug wrench. I go bare minimum, Screw deiver kit, allen & torx kits and a small and large adjustable. I've always had a brother stop and offer help. So far never needed it, but.... Yall keep the rubber on the road!!!  | |

| as far as flashllights go, i have one of those shake up lights....keep an eye out at flea markets...i found them for 1 dollar apiece...bought 3 of them about a year ago....wish i would have bought 20 of them....they all work great and unbelievable the amount of light they put out....plus they work when you need them....bitch to find batteries for a light 60 miles from nowhere........i think in a pinch i could drive with it..for light....

| Another thing I keep in my tool kit is a little CO2 cartridge for filling a tire. Its one of those little ones like whats used for an air gun or paintball. Actually found it at a bike shop and it came with 2 canisters and a valve stem adapter. Can be a real life saver (and back saver) when a slow leak strikes in the middle of nowhere. So far I've never had to use it myself but have gone through a bunch cartridges helping others out.
