I believe the '07s have a closed loop system that adjusts the ECM based on current conditions. Do you even get a lot of benefit from installing a PCIII or SERT on these systems? I'm asking....I don't really know.

I'm thinkink that the 07's have a o2 sensor, but not truely a closed system as many wish. i could be wrong, one of the big dogs will know.

When I first got my 06 Dyna there wasn't a lot out there for it because of the O2 sensors. When I did my stage 1 it had to have it. When you open it up and let it breathe you have to change the map....same as you would have to re jet with a carb. I have see folks try to just swap pipes and air cleaner but the bikes didn't really turn on until the added the PC.

Ride Free.......

I Have A 07 Ultra Classic. Had 8100 Miles On It A While Ago And Decided To Change The Trans Oil. Suppose To Hold 32ox, Superise, Drained The Trans, 11ox Came Out Of It. Glad I Pain All That Money For Dealer Prep. Oh Well. I Couldnt Drive The Bike In The Summer Because Of The Heat On The Back Jug. I Took Off The Exhaust System(no Gaskets On The Headers), And Put On A Set Of True Duels 2.5in From V And S. This Eleminated The Cross-over Pipe. I Now Ride In The Summer With A Set Of Shorts On, No Heat. I Put On A Power Commander Also, And A Stage One Kit For The Air Cleaner. I Run Amsoil Oil In The Bike, What A Difference. Runs Like A New Bike, Stronger Pulling In All Gears. Took It On A 600mi Run Last Weekend. Running From 75-to-80, 54 Miles To A Gallon. Love The Bike(now)

When I Put On The Power Commander On The Bike, It Eleminated The 02 Sensors. Bike Runs Great Without Them. The Only Problem Is When You Start The Bike, You Dont Wait Till The Lites Go Out On The Bike. As Soon As You Switc Iton, You Hit The Start Button. Starts Every Time Right Away.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THIS TOO!! What happens when you don’t wait for the light to go out?? I wonder if I should try this on my 98. What is the difference?????????

Terry, Did you get the bike dyno tuned? If not how did you know what map to use?

Does the check engine light go on if your not using the O2 sensors???

Here’s food for thought about closed and open loop.
About 10 years ago most cars where closed loop from 0% throttle to about 75% throttle. After that they would go into open loop so that the ECM could throw more fuel at the motor than the O2 sensors could read. Today with the change in combustion design cars don’t go much over 12.5 : 1 AFR at WOT anymore and O2 sensors can read a wider AFR so engines today stay closed loop all the time. However, I don’t know what HD is doing.

Good Afternoon; About Starting The Bike. Ya If You Wait Till The Lights Go On, It Still Starts. Not As Fast As If You Dont Wait Till The Lights Go On. Either Way It Still Starts All The Time. Oh Ya The Check Engine Lioght. It Does Not Go On When You Hook Up The Other Power Commander. When I Bought The Pepes From(poweracing.com) They Asked Me What Else I Had On The Bike Besides The Pipes That I Am Getting From Them. I Told Them The Stage One Kit And The Pipes. From There, They Programed The Power Commander In Their Shop For What I Have One The Bike. In Other Words, They Tune It When It Gets To Your Place. Oh Ya, All The Parts That Are Bought From Poweracing Are Not Taxed, Saves A Few Bucks For Gas

HD is closed but they run narrow band o2 sensors so they don't work the whole range. Some is done by the ecm doing mathimatical calculations.

If you really want a good efi system Zippers Thundermax is the way to go it replaces the HD ECM and the o2 sensors with wide band o2 Sensors.

The thunder max tunes the bike at all times.

They even have a Delphi conversion that dumps the MM system and really helps.

Sounds like something I should check that out then. I'd love to see if there is anything better than my MM.
Thanks H

I agree with HRK...everyone I know that has the zippers system says it's the best on the market. I'm a carb guy but I know pelny of people running zippers with their EFI.
