OK, so I have the service manual (just have not looked at it YET!)... Chuck is doing some paint for me on a spare tank that I got for my E Glide Standard EFI. At some point in time, paint will be done and I will want to swap tanks on the BIKE...... any helpful hints on how to make this happen smoothly??? I have never taken a tank off....don't know what is involved (inside or outside the tank.....) so any forthought would be helpful!!! otherwise, will take it to someone to have THEM do it...for a fee of course. (would be less happy with that, but.....)... any help would be appriciated, before the flash/bang of exploding gas fumes!!

AFN just drain the gas ( you never get it all out ) thak seat off , open up gas door there's two screws in there , this will loosen the dash, pull it off , there a bolt at the rear of tank (seat off) & two bolt's up front one on eather side , There's also a cross over tube up front under tank , just pull the right side loose , it's not hard at all YOU CAN DO IT

well, that is encouraging!! just have to wait for the paint to dry..... course, My guess is that Chuck will need to do a bit of prep work before shooting ANY paint!!! He is guessing 4-6 weeks, so I have a bit of time!

EFI fuel connectors are slip fit, just push the outside fitting down I think and it will pull out, be careful there is an o-ring in there if you crack or break it, it's a pia to fix.
