My friend has an HD (don't know model). The starter solenoid does not release and the starter continues to crank after the starter button is released. Engine has been disable to prevent it starting during maintenance. Have to disconect the battery to stop cranking!!!!
New solenoid installed same thing.
While working on problem found that if the solenoid mounting bolts were loose to that solenoid could move a little then all worked OK.
