Primary and Tranmission Help

I need the help of someone with experience. I'm changing my Primary Lubricant for the first time. I read the service manuel. I'm changing from Syn 3 to Redline MTL. My problem is I've put in 26 oz. but it doesn't seem to be a full as the manuel shows in the illustration. Do I stick with the 26 oz? I appreciate your help.

What bike do you have? Since your manual says 26ozs. I'm assuming it's a softail.

I think I can take part credit for the manual!!! Told him that if he didn't have one, GET one.....best tool in the box! He does have a soft-tail..... (tho off the top, I don't remember which one! I DO know it is a 2003. I know all this cuz this guy is cool and goes to the same church as I do....or more truely, I sometimes attend the same chruch he attends (my work schedule makes me a bit more iffy for attendence!) He also appears to be having some Stage 1 issues....but not sure what he has found out on this so will let him sing his own song on this!!

I would agree....Stick with the manual. The only time I have not gone with the manual exactly is on the oil..... I use suggested, then check the dipstick....add as needed to bring the level to the acceptable level on the dipstick (after starting the bike to get it in the filter and everything else as the book calls for.

Hey Bearsoftail...when we going riding???!!!

Hey thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry I didn't give my bike info. It's a 2003 Softail Standard. I'll stick to what the manuel says and I'll let you know how the Redline works out. AFNurse we're riding soon!
