Primary Chain Rubbing

My brother has a 92 FLHS, (electraglide sport). Yesterday we replaced a leaking outer primary gasket. When we opened the primary case what we found was not to encouraging. The inner side of the primary chain is rubbing against the chain tension adjusting plate and has worn a groove in it.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

something is out of alignment....or the brg in the clutch basket may be worn....or the chain has not been adjusted for some time.

Call Bill or Amy at bishops they are top quality people and stand behind what they do.

Sounds like it went out of adjustment.

Had the shoe break on mine, had to clean out all kinds of plastic crud, PIA.
