| Has anyone had experience with how long the 88B twin cam balancing chain is suppose to last? I have 60,000 now on '01 heritage and no work done ever, except normal service and one high temp. sensor gone bad. Have used synthetic (amsoil) since 12,000 miles. |

| I'am guessing it all depend's on the chain itself My bro-in-law has about the same milage as you on his 00 model with no trouble & I have 50K on my o3 with no trouble , WE both run amsiol as well , I have heard about other's with anywhere from about 10K to 30 K already having to change the cam chains & adjuster's |

| I think he's talking about the balancer chain adjusters which are basically hard plastic inserts.
Chains pretty well bathed in oil, not a ton of stress on them like with the cam chain tensioner setup.
Mine at 30K were in good shape, replaced though when It was apart, might as well as it's a PIA to get to them.
If you had 70K or so miles and ride alot might be worth looking into bet they would run to 100K. At that point the motor would need a good looking over. |
