UPgrade the ignition to an aftermarket like Crane Hi-4 or a Daytona Twin Tech where you can set the rev limit where you want.

How much more do you really want to get out of it, and, how often do you pop the limiter?? I got a heavy hand and I don't think I've ever hit the limiter.

I believe the rev limit on your Sportster is around 5500 rpm if you have a pre-04 and 6000 for 04 and newer. If you intend on hitting higher rpm's be aware that going too high and you'll need to look into stronger valve springs to avoid valve float. SE ignitions will get you above this limit but offer not much else. The Crane and Daytona modules mentioned will give you both higher revs and better performance.
