| ordered a 2" streched tank for my 06, efi, hertiage, got it. but it has two fuel line outlets i called the company they said it's susposed to be that way and if i block the other hole it won't drain the other side of the tank anybody know anything about why it has two holes. the bike came with one outlet. to top it off they didn't include the bracket inside the tank for the sending unit, which i'll take from the old tank and have welded into the new one, but this two hole thing |

| Your stock Heritage tank has a crossover line under the front end of the tank. Does your new one have the same set up. I'm by no means an expert on this, but you might need some different fittings to tie both sides of the new tank to your fuel petcock. I'm sure that someone that knows for sure will chime in. |

| My mistake, with EFI you don't have a fuel petcock. |

| Sorry to chime in and sound stupid but isn't that for a crossover like Ringo said?? I looked at mine, (even though it is carbed), and the crossover is at the underside of the front. (I'm sure you know this.....sorry again, just trying to help) |

| I wonder if Skull is talking about fuel outlets to the throttle body?
In 98 like mine there is a feed to the injectors and then there is a return fuel port. So on mine the fuel is always curculating around the injectors. These ports are right next to each other by your left knee.
I think they may have changed this to one outlet just a feed to the injectors. The fuel doesn't circulate back to the tank on newer bikes.
I think I heard this somewhere, but I don't have a new bike so I'm not certain.
And then, of course there are also the little tubes on the front by the neck to get fuel from one side to the other. |

| tom has it right. thats exactly what i have. on the 06 stock tank i have one outlet to the trottle body. on the tank they sent me there are two outlets and one sm < 1/4 in hole also, the sm one has a screw with an "o" ring so it's no problem. at first glance i thought no problem, i'll just find a treaded plug and and block one of the outlets. well . . . hardware stores nor auto parts stores don't have any such thing, and the steeler barely knows what i'm talking about so i e-mailed the rectums i ordered the tank from(can't call them) they didn't know anything, so they called the people who make the the tanks. they said that i can't block one of those outlets because it would prevent the other side of the tank from draining. so last night i went home and throuhly looked it over. well my first glance was right. the extra just needs blocked. its amusing that the people who made this tank don't know **** about how it works and could give such poor inaccurate advise it's really simple. these outlets have nothing to do with draining the other side of the tank. it's that sm balance tube in front of the tank that does that. but . . . . here i am still would like to find a plug. anyone have any idea?? if not i'll have to have a plate welded over it |

| Hey Skull, any chance a plumbing supply would have a threaded cap to cover that? You could possibly get one in chrome or something. Just a thought. |

| I hoping it's a standard bolt thread. it's at least 7/8in. have yet to find anywhere that carries anything that big. it's a fine thread that i hope isn't metric. i'm going to call HD and hope they can tell me what size it is. i thought this would be so easy. to top it off with this new tank they don't include the bracket inside the tank which holds the sending unit so i had to drill the olde one out and will have it welded into the new tank. as far as the bolt thing goes i had somebody tell me to try a tractor/truck supply place. you would think this to be a simple thing |

| Sounds to me like you have a MM EFI fitting outlet, two holes one feed one return.
Zippers makes a kit with parts to convert EFI tanks to Carb, Zippers
You may have to call them to discuss it becuase it's not legal to change from efi to carb so it may not be on the web
