Killer;

Off subject; but funny that you should mention that. I was just reading in one of the motorcycle rags that Great Brittan has proposed to but a road usage tax. The proposal as I understand it would require every vehicle to have a transponder that would be tracked by satellite. The user would be charged form 2p to 1.30 pounds depending on where and time of usage. The article goes on to calculate what a 10 mile commuter in London would pay for a year under the proposed plan. The cost over $12 thousand dollars US.

That is an actual proposal....receivers would query your vehicle for it's status.
OBD6 or the like.

Orwellian 1984 just a tick late?

Its crazy when I first think of it,,, but then, I can see the benefits and consequences of it.
I personally just don’t like the idea of big-brother knowing what/where/when/who of my personnel business. I can see it generating large revenues for stuff like tolls, ect.ect. We already have those global-radars-thingy’s for them fancy cars and SUV's. Do we really need more, or is that what we call progress.

I guess I should rephrase the benefits statement. I can see the benefits for the government, as they can really sock-it to the driver/rider when it comes to getting large revenues out of the pocket of man.
