I have a 00 road glide. Sometimes when shifting from 2nd to third the trans goes to a mistry shift to neutral. Has anyone experenced this and is there a fix.

seems to be a bit of wear between 2nd and 3rd....how many miles on the transmission?? i have not heard of any problems tho..

It has about 35k I read about it in american bagger once and can not find the artical. I think it had to do something with the shift fork.

I know the 4 spd tran's had shifting fork problm's but have never heard of any with the 5 spds

Make sure the shift arm that connects the shiftrod to the tranny is tight on the shifter shaft. If the arm is loose you might not bemoving the shift shaft completely when trying to up shift. I find this quite a bit on bikes where the rider stomps on the rear shift lever and puts alot of torque on the arm when up shifting. If the arm is allowed to get too loose you could round out the splines and then the only remedy is pullint the inner primary to change out the arm.
