| Aftermarket exhaust question
I've got a 2002 FLSTFI Fatboy. It has the Kuryakin 'V' filter (K&N), thunder header and a stage I upgrade. I just bought the Samson Big Guns II Street Sweeper exhaust (with torque cones) and now I'm unsure if I'll need to remap the computer. They're not installed yet. Any thoughts?  |

| sounds like you will need to. just about any change in air flow would benefit from a map change. | |

| the only way to know or adjust it would be to go with a aftermarket fuel management system. the steeler will want for you to go with their "race-tuner". or worst they'll will flash your ecm with one of their shot in the dark downloads, then maybe dyno you $$$$$  so i would recommend thinking about one of these two:
1. thunder max
2. powercommander III
your'll have to spend $350- $900, but it will be an investment over time and give you control over your "maps" and plus not have have to depend on the steeler  good luck with your choice  | |

I suppose I'll just work another weekend so I can buy the PC III. Thanks | |

Thundermax about $600 you install it, easy as cake, it tunes the bike as you ride so be sure to get the auto tune feature.
PC3 WILL NEED a dyno tune.
Down the road you change pipes the Tmax adjusts the PC3 will not, same if you change filter, cams, pistons, head work etc the Tmax does the dyno tune.
call Phil at California Phils Concordia, KS (785) 243-9991 he sells the Tmax at a good price tell him HRK sent you, that way he'll only gig you an extra 10% for my commission LOL
BTW what are you going to do with the thunderheader and what year is the mid-year under the cover, 63 -67 is what it looks like,

I like the two pipe look. Looks like it's a bigger hassle than a carb'd engine for sure. Welp, I'll try to sell the Samson's to recoup some $$$ and stay with the Thunderheaders. I'm hearing you guys think they're better anyway.   | |

| from what i've read up on thundermax is the leader in this department. seems thundermax is by far the best choice. my pc iii has worked flawlessly for the past couple years. if i had to do over again i'd go with thundermax | |

| Straight headers are ok for the strip, on a street bike you will loose a lot of performace. For performance, 2 into 1 is the best bet. JMO but it's been my experience that torque cones don't really do anything for performance. | |

| Thundermax and thunderheader, get the 02 bungs in the thunderheader for the sensors it's the best deal.
