I just got the '07-FLHTI up & running with the new cams(Andrews 37h).The bike feels great with the current map I have but seems like it's a tad rich at idle & when you just come off idle. All other throttle positions feel nice & crisp.I tried to lean the PC with the "mid" button on the commander & had no luck.Does anyone have any experience using those buttons on the front of the PowerCommander?
I spent a good amount of time on the web site & found a very limited amount of info concerning the usage of those buttons.Tech-line?...tried that before, not impressed.I know I'm gonna have to dyno it some day, just don't have the extra 3-4 hundred bucks right now.
The old FXDWG(carburetor-HSR42)sure is missed right now!!!

those bottons with what you're doing (fine tuning) doubt there're be of much value. you should be thinking about a laptop/pc to get the most out of your pciii. sounds like your're loading up @idle. if you have to use the bottons you may want to think about low range, but those buttons really limit what you can do(i.e. timing). once you get the least bit used to playin around with your pciii you won't miss blowin this out and that out, gas driping, gaskets and ect. i don't miss rebuilding carbs. i've really come to embrace efi and said i never would, but thats only me and my experience with efi

SKULL,
Thanks for responding.I used to swear by carburetors too,but agree that technology is hard to beat when trying achieve maximum performance.Do you know if I can change the "0" value in the map table @ 1000rpm to -1 or is that not wise to do.I just came back from a short ride & the bike feels great aside from the slight "richness" at idle.
I'm gonna have to do some research & lap top to bike hook-up for now.It sucks to be broke!
**note:The tools from Georges Garage worked well...I personally prefer the tools from JIMS(JMO).Thanks SKULL for your input,00 wildglide

doesit run bad right off of idle, lots of tuners give the engine a little more fuel around idle speed for quicker warmups, runs cooler idling, waiting in traffic, and no popping on decel. if it runs alright there i would not worry about it. Todd

the way i understand those numbers on the the map is "0" means that your pc is doing nothing to the base map in your ecm. in other words "0" = the factory setting. so . . . . . -1 wound be slightly learner than factory. not sure but i think a value of 1 = around 4%, not real sure about that number so if your're running rich at idle i would'nt hessitate to go wth -1. just make sm. adjustments 3-5 area. you might want to think about sm adjustments to your timing too

I did some experimenting with the computer hooked up to the PC-III while the bike was running today.I found that at idle, the throttle angle was actually at 5-6 percent according to the readings on the lap top.I decreased the fuel by 2 at 1250 r.p.m.s with 10 percent throttle applied.I did this because the engine would run slightly rough as I opened the throttle.I estimate about a 10 percent decrease at that particular cell.I also changed the 1000 r.p.m. at 0-percent throttle angle to -1 due to the "loading-up" condition I mentioned in the earlier post.I now took the bike for a test ride on the streets & briefly on the freeway.
I must say,not bad for a rookie who was pretty clueless to tinkering with the Power Commander. As I said before,I know I'll have to eventually get it dyno tuned for max performance. The cams(ANDREWS-37H)feel pretty good in the mid-range area.
ps:THANKS TOUKE 76 & SKULL for all your help & input. 00 wildglide
