On My New Tank There Are 2 Nice Size Holes At The Bottom, Guessing This Is A Crossover. On The Stock Tank There Is A Line From The Bottom Of The Tank That Goes All The Way To The Primary Case. Is This Some Kind Of Vent Line Or Emmissions. I'm Guessing That The Pop Up Cap Is Vented.

i dont know why you would have a gas line to the primarys.....all ya need is a vented cap....a crossover to get the gas past the hump to the outlet side...and a petcock...

After Looking At The Old Oil Tank There Is A Check Valve That The Line Goes Through First. My Guess It Is A Emissions Thing.

to throw a couple pennys in, the line on your old tank did it connect to your primary, cause it looks like it could be an expansion relief line that would run down by your primary, with a pressure relief so ya ain't dripping fuel when you corner bumps and such, and so that it dosen't come out your lid and down the side of your tank, your new tank probably didn't come with that feature, and that looks like your cross over at the bottom, and I ain't figurin out the oil tank thing, unless its pointing out the valve as stated above and nothing to do with the oil tank it's self. just some thing I have seen before.

It Had Like A Check Valve Hooked On To The Back Of The Oil Tank. If I Knew What Kind Of Fitting That Was On The Inside, I Would Just Put One On The New Tank. But My Guess It's A Emissions Deal Or Like You Said. I Know No Gas Should Go Into The Primary, So At This Point I'm Just Going To Hook The Check Valve Do Hicky Back Up And Tuck It Back Be Hind The Oil Tank Agian. The Cap Is Vented So Hope Fully It Will Work Out.

sounds like a plan to me.....but maybe make the line long enough to exit the lower frame. just incase it is some type of overflow,,,,dont need gas fumes buildingup near a electrical sourse............like the battery...

THAT WOULD GIVE ME THAT [GHOST RIDER] LOOK PUT THE PETCOK ON THE TANK, AND GUESS WHAT? IT HITS THAT MOUNT THAT CONNECTS THE JUGS TOGETHER. DUE TO THAT 1/2 INCH OF SPACE FROM THE FRAME MOUNT. NOW I HAVE TO CUT THE BRACKET, WHICH MEANS THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO PUT BOLTS IN IT TO CONNECT TO THE FRAME. SO IF ALL THE OTHER MOUNTS ARE IN PLACE, IS IT OK NOT TO PUT THOSE BOLTS TO THE BACK BONE OF THE FRAME. THERE ARE 10 BOLTS HOLDE'N THE MOTOR IN PLACE. 4 AT THE BACK BOTTOM,4 AT THE FRONT BOTTOM, RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE, 2 AT THE FRONT TOP. I ALREADY SEE THAT I WILL HAVE TO MOUNT THE TANK HIGHER THAN NORMAL FOR THE TRIPLE TREE CLEARANCE, DUE TO THE STRECH IN THE TANK AND RAKE OF THE NECK.

i am not sure i would not use all the bolts for the engine/trans mounting. the engine is part of the frame on sportsters....it would not suprise me that even on a ridgid, they use the engine for support.

Instead Of Useing Spacers, Or Leaving Them Out, I'm Just Going To Cut The Middle Of The Bracket Out And Add The Space With Metal. Like A L Shape. That Would Solve The Space Issue And Hopefully Give Me The Petcock Clearance. Still Hard To Say, I Need The Front End To Do The Tank And Seat.
