Sometimes it's good to buy online, sometimes from an indy.
Buy from the local shop from time to time and pay a little more, the day will come when you need help, flat tire on a Sat AM before your big ride, etc and you'll need a friend...
Also just because somethings on Ebay doesn't mean it's a good price, check and know your costs before you buy and by all means learn to frikkin bid properly. I see people putting in bids every day on a 7 day auction running the frikking price of the thing up, absolutely stupid.

eSnipe - Bid on eBay Automatically - eSnipe 3.0 you go online, enter the auction number, the $ amount of your maximum price you're willing to pay, then it will bid for you 10, 15, 20 seconds before the end of the auction, that way the other numbnuts sitting there with the mouse on the bid button trying to win will get "sniped" and be unable to run it up on you.
