| SAD TO SAY, NEVER DID BRAKE FLUID ON A BIKE. SO I NEED SOME HELP, IS THERE A TOOL I HAVE TO HAVE TO PUMP IT IN, OR CAN I JUST POUR IT IN THE RESEVOUR. PLEASE SAVE ME AGIAN FROM HAVEING TO BUY A SERVICE MANUAL AND GIVE ME A STEP BY STEP  |

| i do mine (of course I haven't done a newer bike yet) the old fashion way in the top out the bottom till the air bubbles stop and I use a container and only use new fluid. |

| let's see here first you find the bike  there should be a bleeder on the calaper loosen it , & fill the resv & let gravity work , just put a catch can under it & I wrap a rag so it don't go every where |

| Are you just adding fluid or bleeding the entire system? If your just adding fluid, remove the cover from the reservoir and fill to 1/8" from the top. If your bleeding the system, then what everyone else said. |

| Have'nt Got To It Yet Chuck, Just Prepareing. Some Time This Week, I Got The Frame And Tank All Prep Up For Paint. So I Loosen That Zerk Looking Thing At The Top Of The Brake, Pull The Cover Off The Resvoir, Poor It In Till It Comes Out The Top Of The Brake, Pump The Brakes To Make Sure All Air Is Out. | Hey,sweet lookin sporty.
Your gonna need a buddy to help ya. One on the caliper and one on the brake lever. Open the bleedrer screw on the caliper the pull in the brake lever,hold the lever in then close the bleeder screw, release lever. open bleeder again,pull in lever,close bleeder bleeder screw. Repeat this until you have clean fluid coming out of the bleeder. Don't let the fluid level in the resevoir get too low or you will get air in the system.Take your time and don't release the brake lever with the bleeder screw open either,that will also put air in the system. Once you have clean fluid coming from the bleeder and resevoir is full ,button it up and pump the lever a few times to build pressure,if it doesn't pump up ,you got air in itThere is a gizmo you can buy for a one man brake bleeding job that has a cup a tube and a one way valve for doing this,you can get them at your local auto supply dealer or from CCI, Drag,Mid USA.
I would suggest tho that you pick up a Shop manual and a Parts book if your gonna do your own work, the money you spend on them is well worth the headaches they'll save. They should be one of the first tools you buy.

| WHY BUY A BOOK WHEN I CAN GET THE OPINION AND EXPERTEEZ OF THOUSANDS  THANX AGIAN BY THE WAY  CAN'T BELIEVE THAT DOT 5 IS LIKE 3 TIMES AS MUCH, DIDN'T HAVE IT AT WALLY WORLD, HAD TO GO TO NAPA  DID ALOT OF MY PAINT TODAY, FRAME IS ALL WELDED AND PAINTED, GONNA START PUTTING IT ALL BACK TOGETHER SUNDAY, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT ONLY TOOK ME 2 HRS TO STRIP IT BACK DOWN BONE DRY, PULLED THE MOTER MYSELF AND EVERYTHING. HAD TO JACK IT UP TO GET THAT LAST BOLT. WONT BE PUTTING IT BACK IN MYSELF  MIGHT ACTUALLY HAVE IT ROLLIN BY NEXT WEEKEND  |

| Yeah, lotsa knowledge on here,save the money for a couple parts  ...If you spill a little Dot 5 on paint it won't eat the paint job on ya, so you can rationalize its cheaper in the long run. I can't believe  the genius' at HD took a step backwards and went to Dot 4 in the newer bikes.
Post some pics of the bike wen yer done. 
Tried to put the thumbs down by the Dot4,not at the top of the post. I'll never figure out these freakin computors
