I bought an 04 Fatboy with 200 miles on her and Python exhaust. I noticed right away a chrip at idle and pulling out in first gear. I installed Bub Jug Hugger exhaust and have the same chirp. I took the baffles out of the Pythons and it still had the chirp. Harley has told me anything from, the baffles, to exhaust leak, to thats just the way it is. Anyone have this or heard of this chip?

chirps usually stem from leaks....check the exhaust gaskets at the head and all clamps,,,,,,try not to use aftermarket clamps, i have found the ones from harley to be the best at sealing leaks............might replace the exhaust gaskets, there not expensive,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I used the new ones that came with the Jug Huggers. Also, the chirp is at idle and big time while pulling away in first gear.

check the exhaust gaskets, make sure you havent doubled up on them, it is easy to do, check all the clamps.....and torque them to specs........

I'm assuming when you said doubled up on them that you meant putting two gaskets in each side at the motor. I just can't figure out why BOTH sets of pipes, different manufactures, have the same damn chirp sound.

from the info you have provided, it sounds like an installation problem. can you pinpoint exactly where the sound is comming from???? cant stress enough about the torques, and the use of quality clamps. after market clamps are not the best out there. the harley clamps will work and hold the torque required to eliminate the chirp, if it is an exhaust chirp..............let us know.................
