Got Her All Loobed Up, Fired It Up And It Started Smoking, Then Blew Oil Cap Off, Draind Oil, Let It Run For Awile, Test Road, And In The Middle Of The Ride It Blew Oil Out The Back Head Breather Like A Busted Water Line, Draind More Oil, Started It Up And Same Thing, Blew Like A Faucet From The Back Breather, Is This Because Of To Much Oil? I Put In 3 Qaurts Because I Drained It All, I Guess. There Is No Way Of Knowing With My New Oil Tank Except For How Much I Put In. Guess I'll Keep Draining Oil For Now, Any Ideas. ALSO MY OIL IS BLACK AS SHIIT AND I JUST PUT NEW OIL IN AND IT LOOKS OLD NOW. IF MY OIL IS TO THIN COULD THIS BE A FACTOR?

i think you have a crossed line, or oil pump not quite rite.........if ya only had 3 qts in it and you kept draining it, you may now be starving the engine for oil..........

That definitley does not sound good [.Did you have your Oil Lines off for any reason? Check your manual. I'm sure your feed line comes from the bottom of the tank. The return comes back into the tank at or near the top but still submerged some what in oil. the breather should come out above the oil in the tank. but its still best to check your manual trouble shoot. good luck!

When I Got The New Oil Tank I Cut The Fittings Off The Old And Welded Them In The Same Location And Order As The Oem, Return And Out Where Both On Bottom Same As The Drain, I Just Ran It For About 15 Minutes Till It Did It Agian, Seems Like I'm Building To Much Presure, I Put In A New Filter In The Breather So At Least It Doesn't Spray Now Just Pumps Out, The Front Breather Seams To Be Fine, Seems Like After This Happens, When I Start It Up I Get Alot Of Smoke Out Of The Exhaust.

hopefully thats what it is.cause I'm stumped .chucktx sounds like he might be going in the right direction if it didn't do it before. The breather could have jumped time worn gear, or broken tooth on a gear.Like always, all you can do hope for the best and exspect the worse..let us know what you find.......Later

Nother ? There Are 2 Lines Going To The Motor Inflow And Return, Then Another That Links Into The Drain Line From The Motor, I Noticed A Kink Or Twist In The Main Drain Line From The Tank, Still Lets The Oil Drain But The Motor Drain Line, Will It Pump The Oil Back Up The Line Throug The Drain Into The Tank. With That Kink In The Line Could It Be Causing Preasure To Build Up From Having To Try To Pump So Hard Back Into The Tank.

Like Chuck said...make sure the breather is timed correctly ...thats what it sounds like to me ..building up too much pressure, from the down stroke of the pistons...good luck...

the breather is in with the gears....cams and such. get the manual out and it wll give you instructions on checking and timing it. if it is out of time it will allow crankcase pressure to build in the oil tank.....trying to explain the procedure is a bit to much to post here, basicly it is lining up all the timing marks, from the cams, and breather gear.
do you have a pressure gauge on the bike??

Presuming you have the oil lines properly routed then
1) a kinked hose will do what you are saying, if you cut off the head breather lines, or kink the feed line this would happen
2) too much oil, yep but it won't blow at idle it will usually do it under throttle
3) you could have a rocker base gasket in wrong covering a return line
4) breather gear out of time
whatever it is quit running the dang thing until you get it figured out or it's going to be more expensive.

Think I Got It, Lines In Wrong Places, Like Many Said, Aparently On The Oem Tank I Thought The Lines Were All At The Bottom, Cut The Fittings Off Welded Them On The New Tank In Same Positions, Looked In The Old Tank And I Can See At Least One Of The Lines Going To The Top, My Guess Now Is Both My Bottom Lines Are The Vent And The Return And The Out Is Going Thourh The Drainline, Or The Line Going To The Drain Is The Return, I'm Finally Going To Break Down And Go Get The Manual Today To Make Sure What Line Does What, I Think This Would Defenetly Be Causing My Problem, Let You Know As Soon As I Get It All Back Together.

The feed line comes straight out the bottom of tank ,the return comes in to the tank at the bottom but comes up the tube inside to top of tank, this is to allow for some cooling of the oil The breather needs to be plumbed to the air space in the top of the tank if its is plugged it will over press the oil tank and blow the cap off. Check the plumbing...good luck

It's easy to have the lines mixed up unless you mark them before you take them off. I did it before and thought I had a bad Oil pump.had the vent hooked to the feed ,hence no oil presure. Not Good. On the the horse shoe heritage tank. The barb that faces the tranny is the feed line you can check the feed line by pulling it off and oil will drain out of the tank.Just as if you were draining it the next barb to it is, the vent, this should be out of the oil on a tube near the top of the tank. the next is the return line this is also on a tube but is just submersed in oil before the top of the tank.if a can find it I'll send you a cut away drawing.hotroadking is right. You should stop running it untill you 've got strait.you don't want to pop the motor.....Later, I'll look for that tomarrow.....strickt9Rob.

HEY CHUCK I'LL RELAY TO THE STEALER SHIP I NEED THAT MANUAL ON DEMAND WENT DOWN TO GET ONE AND CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT AND SAID THEY HAD TO ORDER IT, TAKES ABOUT A WEEK, SO NATURALY I THOUGT, IF I HAVE TO WAIT A WEEK I'LL JUST ORDER ONE AND PAY $35 INSTEAD OF 60. AT LEAST HE WAS NICE ENOUGH TO GET THE SHOP ONE AND LET ME SEE THE LINES. THE 2 LINES THAT I PUT ON THE BOTTOM ARE THE RETURN AND VENT, THE FEED WAS RUNNING OFF THE DRAIN. ON THE OLD TANK THE FITTINGS RAN INSIDE THE TANK, NOW I KNOW FOR NEXT TIME SO AFTER DRAINING THE OIL I PUT BACK IN 3 QTS OF OIL WITH NEW FILTER, FIRED HER UP AND OFF COMES THE CAP. THE OIL LEVEL IN THE TANK WAS ALL THE WAY UP THE FILLER CAP. DRAINED 1QT TO LEVEL IT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FILLER CAP. RODE AROUND FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES, ALL GOOD. LET IT COOL DOWN, WASHED ALL THE OIL OFF, HOUR LATER FIRED IT UP AND POP GOES THE WEASLE ONCE AGIAN THE OIL WAS TO THE END OF THE FILLER CAP. DRAINED ANOTHER HALF QT TO MAKE IT LEVEL, LET IT WARM UP FOR ABOUT 15 MIN, TOOK A RIDE UP AND DOWN THE BLOCK, RODE TO WORK AND FIRED UP AT BREAK, LET IT WARM UP 15 MIN BEFORE I LEFT AND ALL GOOD. OIL IS NOW STAY'N LEVEL AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FILLER CAP. GOT HIP NOW THOUGH, I GRAB A RAG AND HOLD THE OIL CAP SO IT CAN'T BLOW OFF AND SHOOT OIL EVERY WHERE. GET TO TEST RIDE TOMORROW AGIAN DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH
OIL IS IN THERE, BUT IF THE CAP ISN'T BLOW'N OFF AND I CAN SEE THE OIL IN THE TANK AND NOT RUN'N FUNNY, I'LL CALL IT GOOD.
