Hi Kids. This is my first post on this gizmo so please bear with me if I screw up. I ride a 2002 FLHRI with stock pipes and it's way past time to install a pair of better sounding and performing mufflers on it. I really like the Vance & Hines slip-on Ovals but I also like the V & H slip-on Classics. I'm lookin' for a deep-bass low sounding rumble as opposed to a higher tinny crackle. Which of these two mufflers will sound like what I'm hoping for? Would you recommend any other manufacturer for a better sound and/or performance. What about H-D Touring mufflers with the ability to change the end-cap style? How do the H-D Touring mufflers sound in comparison to the V & H Ovals?
Guess that's more than enough dumb ???'s for one post, huh?
Thanks for your help,
Peter

If you go to V&H's website they have sound clips of all their mufflers. That is how I decided to buy my oval slip ons.....good luck

Hi Peter,
Beauty is in the eye of...you know where I'm headed with that one...However for what its worth.... I've got a 2003 Road King S.Eagle, came with S.Eagle slip-ons, & they were too soft/mild for me. I was accustomed to Python3 on my Super Glide (loud), so first I put on Hooker slip-ons & did like the deep sound & tunable part, but wanted some more increase in performance & bought BuB Rinehart true dual system. I may stick with the bub pipes & go back to the Hookers? I got the performance increase, but again a bit soft on the sound for me! I just ordered optional baffles for them...hoping to correct my wants/needs. Not sure if this is any help for you, however i will strongly urge you to listen b4 you buy, if at all possible! It will save you some $$$ Best of luck!!
Steve
