05 springer slip-ons-k and n filter

I'm putting on a set of vance&hines fishtail slip-ons and a k&n high flow filter kit on my 05 springer classic. Do I have to get it remapped?
If the performance is o.k., can I run it without any engine damage?

You Can, But What You Think Is Running Fine, Really Isn't And When You Re-map Or Adjust The Carb To Your Set Up You Will Realize How Crappy You Where Running, I Know Because I Ran Like That For At Least 5 Years Till I Just Adjusted The Idle Mix Screw, Didn't Cause Any Real Damage That I'm Aware Of Other Than The Extra Ware On The Motor, But The Running Fine Thing Does Get Progressive To Worse, It Would Prob. Be Ok For Short Term Until You Re Map, But I Would Sugest You Do It.

It will run very lean after you do that. i think you would need to re-map or get a Power Commander3 to get more fuel in . I am assuming your '05 has fuel injection. I had an '05 Dyna EFI bike and made the same mods has you and it ran ok but very lean. I put the PC3 on and it ran a lot better and it did not run so lean. running real lean can cause some damage to your engine.
