For my 2005 FXSTI: I have Vance and Hines Straightshots installed. I have the Power Commander III purchased (on hand). I am waiting on the Arlen Ness Big Sucker Air Cleaner to arrive (any day now). My question is this: Does anyone know if the power commander is going to install and stay hidden beneath my LePera Bare Bones Solo Seat? I haven't tried to install the PC yet due to waiting on the AC to arrive, but this question has popped up and I'm curious.............I called the Dynojet 1-800 number to ask them. Their technical response was "Don't know, our product is intended to be used with a stock seat". Give me a break.........They are selling a product to change your bike from stock - to non-stock. I'm sure someone knows, but their lack of interest really p'd me off a little. Nearly $300 for their product, and they could care less to try and find an answer from another tech..............?

And if anyone is interested, I have had the new exhaust on for about 850 miles without changing the air cleaner or having a flash, etc. Runs fine, no cough, no pop, etc. I always intended to install the PC though when I got the air cleaner. So, if you have a newer bike and just want the sound only - new pipes and no flash or PC should be fine for you.

The PCIII that I installed in my 04 FLSTCI Heritage came with a deeper pan for the ECU and the PCIII to sit in. I would imagine that your bike is not that much differnet than mine, so you should be able to fit the PCIII in under your solo seat. Of course, since this PC thing is so critical to the bike, maybe you should devise a way to check the clearance beforehand.

I, too, called the PC tech line for help. The guy was so glib in his response that I almost changed my mind about using the PCIII. Good thing for this BIKE TALK forum, because the advice I got hear helped my research, and I was able to successfully install the PCIII. I am NOT impressed with the PC tech service.

Cool

I have an FLHT (e-glide standard) and my PC sits behind the side cover....I can take the seat off and STILL not know that it is there on the side....as to the fitment on your bike, sorry, not as sure. Good luck tho!

Air Cleaner arrived today, and I got it along with the PC III installed. Everything fit fine. I just had a go of it, figured I'd find out one way or the other - but had no clearance issues at all. The hardest part of the install was the "bending down of the tabs" on the fuse plate. I ended up just snapping off the tabs with a pair of needle nose pliers (as so many peple have already mentioned). Performance wise - not a huge bang for the buck, but it does pull harder through the gears, and seems to want to keep climbing the whole way through when on the throttle. It does run and deccelerate smoother than it did before (with just the straightshots installed) though. Overall, I'm content with the whole set-up. It's something anyone should be able to do in the garage with basic tool's and no lift required.
