Bike surge

I have a 2007 HD Heritage. the engine surges at lower speeds(like going through town) I took it to the dealer and they rode it and said it was normal. I really didn't like that answer but what can you do. The bike in completely stock except for rush slip ons. My 02 Electra Glide(carbed)was as smooth as glass. HELP! This is driving me nuts. Thanks

i'd try runninig a diagnosics with the speedo and see if they're any codes which may point to a sensor. often it will give you a part number which will point to the affected sensor when theres a problem it does'nt always throw a code. if that work may want to try another steeler

In both cases of my own, it was due to an overly rich condition where the cylinder would 'load up'; but since you have a bike in stock condition...which is already running the ragged edge of lean, then added freer breathing pipes, I'd say you are overly lean and experiencing 'lean surge'. Buy a tuner like the screaming eagle race tuner, power commander PC III, or one of the simpler and cheaper devices like the Vance and Hines fuel pak, that will simply allow you to dial up the fuel delivery at a few various points.
