| I Have A 08 Ultra. Yesterday I Started The Bike Up, It Ran Around Three Thousand R.p.m. Took It To The Shop, One Of The Guys That Work Their Took Me To My Bike. It Seems Like They Were Having A Problem With The 08,s New Throttle (electronic). He Told Me If It Ever Does That Again, I Have To Start The Bike Up And Shut It Off Around Five Times(remind You, This Is A Brand New O8, 1400 Mi On It). Looks Like They Will Have To Put In A New Starter In It If I Do What They Want Me Too Do. I Am Sure The People With The 08,s Are Going To Be Real Happy, Like The People With The 07,s. I Was One Of Them |

| the 08's electronic throttle has a memory position for idle, if you shut the bike off with the throttle held at a higher RPM it remembers that as the idle position, so the next time you start your idle goes way up.
Best to let the bike return to normal idle then turn off the motor.
Stupid programming which will probably get changed and you'll get an update in the future, yep you cycle the igntion on off 5 times and it resets the rpm to the correct level. |

| I have a '08 Ultra and I have not had a lick of problems with the throttle by wire. I have close to 3,000 miles on it and I do not notice the difference from the other bike I had with throttle cables. Hope they get it figured out for you. |

| I have an 08 Streetglide and no problems with any thing and got 24oo miles on it.I love it!!!
Only problem I ran into was after market exhaust with a PC3 module. The 08 most certainly is nice.I had a 07 Roadking Custom bought new in 06 put 8000 miles on it and it ran perfectly.
Maybe after you reset it and Harley corrects the charging problem all will be ok....good luck. |

| another problem you may incounter.....if you ride near a radio tower that is transmitting, the bike will shut off, if equiped with one of the keyless alarm systems. sometimes you can put the fob on the seat and it will start again, other times you need to push the bike about 500 yds from the tower....saw this happen on 2 bikes on the same run, infront of a tower...... |

| When my o8 S/Glide did this, I was told to turn on the ignition and pull the maxi fuse out of the fuse box, let stand for a few minutes to reset the ecm. They couldnt tell me why? I thought maybe my super tuner had something to do with it.
It works, but no one wanted to tell me the real problem... |

Chuck, If I had one of these bikes and crap like that happened to me I would leave the scoot righ there and let the stealer handle that. I'm going to buy an 08 and then have to push 500 yards, I DON'T THINK SO !!!!
So much for moco technology, eh? "JAZZ" |
