my 2001 super glide has intermitten problem has v&h short shots & k&nfilter dj kit in carb 45 &180 jets runs great problem is pulling out from a stop it pops thru carb & stalls some days runs great & no problem & other times it pops & stalls often was told intake seals on heads is problem

I’ve got a similar problem with my 01 Lowrider.
When this happens my speedometer jumps from the speed I’m going to 0 & back again.
I’ve tried unplugging my speedo & tach, didn’t help.
It seems to be worse at high humidity levels.
I’m thinking electrical ... coil or plug wires perhaps.
I haven’t chased it down yet.

i think the air screw needs adjustment.....try turning it out about 1/8 turn and try it. it sounds like you are very close on adjustment.......let us know!

Sounds like a loose connection or bad ground, check for loose terminals or corrision in plug connectors.

And another thing to check would be the vehicle speed sensor on top of the tranny, they are known to get metal fuzz on them(on the magnet) and do goffy things. Todd

It sounds like your burning to rich. To ajust the air on a c-v carb you may have to remove it.There is a small plug over the top of the screw. Iv seen service manuls on ebay or less then 40 bucks.

don't wipe it with your finger or lick your finger afterward, that Futz is metal shavings..

Clean the sensor as Duke said they get filthy, and if it's really bad, try putting it back in and pulling out right away bet it picks up more metal fragments, do that couple of times, and change over to a good synthetic gear oil, Redline Heavy shockproof works great sticks to the gears like nothing you've seen and will reduce the metal shavings. Plus it quiets down the gearbox, shifts smoother etc.

I always use my tongue for checking fuzz, electrical connections and cleaning battery posts...it is rarely used on people and is only for the aforementioned, licking stamps and emergencies...

Could be an intake leak, poppin thru the carb is a lean symptom and dj kits fatten up off idle. Check out the manifold gaskets at the heads and at the the carb mount. If they are OK it could be the idle adjustment screw

Good plan, I'm new to to sensor controled bikes and keep forgetting that when there's a problem more often than not it's a sensor acting up
