| I am wondering if any of you have had experiance with a center stand on something bigger like an Electra Glide? I like the thought of it but not sure. I have found 1-2 places on line that sell them but they are running around $300 without shipping........ Sorry CD.....Direct Parts doesn't have anything like this....already checked!! Does anyone know where I can find something like this for less then 300? How did you like it? any problems? Any input appricitated!! I would need someone that can/will ship as I am AF stationed in Germany NO UPS....) Thanks! |

| I've got a center stand on my '93 FLHS. It came with the bike when I bought it. I almost removed it because it was on a list of things my wife called "Old Man Looking Stuff". She wanted everything that looked like "An Old Man's Bike" removed before she would ride on it. (Really, ask CD).
Anyway, I pouted for a while and she gave in. I like it for several reasons. It makes checking the primary and transmission oil level easy and it makes storage area in the garage a little smaller. It also makes oil changes easy. I don't use it much in public because some butt head could push the bike forward and take it off the stand. Unlike the side stand which requires removing the weight before it will move.
I think mine came from HD but, I'll look around and see what I can find.

| I found the one by Rivco.....checked with DP on the pre-order tech email....there is someone named Sam that told me that DP doesn't have that sort of thing for my bike....... the HD website shows one that is more "front mounted"....almost looks like maybe the crash bars.....not sure I like the look of that one....the Rivco looks better....just wondering if there were other options out there! One of the reasons that I am looking at it is that I have gotten one of those "cycleshelters"......center stand may help with using that space wise.....just a thought. Thanks for the input!! |

| I have the Harley centerstand on a 2004 Ultra Classic. I do like it. Easier to clean bike and looks cool at a ride in. You can get it from Chicago Harley on line (with their 20% on line discount) for around $200. Good luck. |

| Right now I have a '96 Electra Glide Classic with the display stand. It came with the bike when I bought it (3 years ago). I am in the process of selling that bike and have ordered an 05 ultra (thus the name). I have already begun buying accessories and the first thing that I bought for it was an HD display stand. Boston Harley had a 25 percent off cash sale and I jumped on it. I use it more often than the "jiffy" stand. I put my bike on a bike jack (Sears) to clean it and have found that I need to put a piece of 3/4 thick wood under the stand for the jack to fit under (in its lowest position). When I bought the bike, the salesman told me to get off the bike, facing toward the back of the bike on the left side, push down on the "tab?" to lower the stand and lift up on the rear crash bar while leaning toward the back of the back. I found that the best way to lower the display stand is to straddle the bike, pushing down on the "tab?" and pulling back on the handlebars. Brief bio - I'm 6'3" and weigh 310 lbs. You can often find me sitting at a red light with both feet on the floorboards. When the light changes, I drive right off of it. People behind you will think you have exceptional balance. I will never own another bike without one. Best of luck to those who serve this great country. |

| I love that picture more every time I look at it! Only concern I would have is stalling out while in the water and sucking water back into the engine......also, does that bike come with 2 wheel drive for adequite pulling power for that initial tug getting that boat outa the water??!! I know HD is geared like a tractor and is good at stump pulling (per my buddy that rides a Honda CBR900...... ) As a side note.....I actually know a guy (and his family! they are good friends of ours), that lost his truck to the Mississippi river while loading his boat on the trailer/getting ready to pull the boat out of the river.... traumatized one of his kids so bad (watching their truck go down/under the river) she wouldn't go boating from age 5 to 16or 17ish!! It is now sort of a family joke, tho not brought up all the time....... |

No worries getting the boat up the ramp. I have the ol' lady push from the deep end.
Besides, Dutch taught me a long time ago to leave the trailer on the boat. Helps in shallow water like sand bars. Also, the fender makes a great place to stand while fishing. |

| Well, just received my Rivco center stand and put it on the bike. Easy to put on and looks good!!! I was kinda suprised when I lifted the bike....that FLHT weighs in what? 750-800 pounds?? Went up without too much difficulty!! It also really saved some space in the cycleshelter that I am using to store the bike for the winter!! Thanks for all the input that you guys gave me on this stand!!! Now, just have to wait for the weather to break so I can start riding again!!! |
