| Can't find oil line for Firebolt Hey Guys, I have a Firrebolt that I had motor work done on over the winter and am about to put everything back together, but there is a part I'm missing and have been trying to get for 6 mo. now. Local dealer has been trying, I spent 2 hr. last wk. end on phone and net trying to find one. Was given Harley cross over number but when I tried to order the part the other day the part # I had was for an oil cooler kit. Have gone to a tractor repair shop and hydrolic repair shop, they weren't able to do me any good. This Oil line has a double flare, which isn't that common I guess. On my way to a large truck repair shop, have been told the should be able to fab this up for me. I hope so. If any one else has an idea or has had the same problem and has a solution Please let me know. Riding season is coming fast to S.W. PA and I got an itch for this bike bad. |

| Do you have the factory repair manual (and parts guide) for this model? Typically you should be able to find the part number there. I'm not quite clear based on your description where this part actually mounts.

| double flaring is common in brake systems. you can buy a kit at an autoparts store, they may even have the correct size line, all you would have to do is bend it to fit. use a bender to keep the kinks out of your line......hope this helps........

| Hi, The original part # is obsolete. That's what Buell/Harley dealer I deal with told me. Got a crossover # from a dealer in N.C. When I tried ordering part from Harley dealer he told me that # was for an oil cooler kit. [$133]. The last time I bought one it was $25. So figured this wasn't it. Truck mechanic gave me J&P Cycles cat. today. All raw materals no double flare, but they have adapters. I don't know if these adapters are what I want. Will have to ask builder. Parts guy at Harley shop suggested changing type of fitting. Another consideration. The solid brake line won't work. This hose goes from the bottom of right side of case through muffler bracket to swingarm. The swing arm is the oil tank. I need the flexability. Thanks for the thought though. Well still don't have a line in my hand that will work yet but I really think the adapter they have in JP and Drag Specialities should do it . Hope Hope! Will keep you posted

| A good hydraulics shop should be able to build what you need without reservation, fitting, tubing and hose should be thier business, if they tell you they cant then find a real hyd. shop.......a double flare is as common as about any other fitting or hose will be, you can also pick up a double flare kit at lowes home depot, snapon, napa, carquest, etc. then the tubing, the hose and build it your self .

| Hi, Well I have a hose I'm fairly certain is going to work. Local NAPA shop put one toghther for me. Will start build again end of this wk. Builder working on another bike till I had all parts. I was going to post some pics of my bike but it is buried under a cover behind another bike, besides we have all seen bike guts before, will show finished product. Here is a quick run down of the stuff I had done this winter. From Revolution Performance I got .610 lift cams,1.84in. intake,1.25 exhaust valves, springs, valve seats, rocker arms and valve guides. They balanced and lightened the crank assembly, bored out my throttle body and intake manifold and venturi inlet. My buddy doing the build did a little grinding on heads also. I have had a bunch of high tech powder coating done also. Heat disperseant coating[semi-gloss black] on the cylinders, heads and rocker box covers. The D&D muffler and exhaust manifold are coated in Cermachrome ceramic finish. It is supposed to contain heat in exhaust. Inside of the piston sleeve has been coated with a friction reducing process that impregnates the metal. I reconditioned my old pistons, friction reducing coating on skirts, heat barrier on top. I have a disc to reprogram ECM. Well that's as much as I can remember right now.Like I said will post pics when done, or maybe when it is back on lift. In the mean time I have a few pics of Gaylord's [builder]bikes and one he is working on. He has a 45 Harley that I'll get some pics of later. It's under a cover and behind another bike right now. This picture thing might take a minute. Just got camera, tried sendin pics, file too big or wrong MIME what ever that is . Will figure this out eventually.

| Yep, I'm having trouble posting pics. When I tried to send the pics the computer told me what I had tried to send was too large or the MIME was incorrect. Just got the camera last wk. soooo still figuring stuff out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Am going to try again right now and try to send less pics and see if I get somewhere like that.
