| Dead 2008 FLHX Streetglide Went out wife and I yesterday for a nice afternoon ride and the bike quit on us about 60 miles from home. Had to get a wrecker to bring us home after waiting for over an Hour on the road and a 100 bucks to get it in the garage.
Stopped to get gas.... shut Bike of off normal as I always do.... filled it up.....started it up took off to end of lot and it stopped running like I hit the Kill switch!!
No bad running all day just up and and died!! The Muther&^(^#$ !!!!!!!
Checked Fuses no problems, Power to Fuel -pak no problems!!! Just turns over and will not hit a lick!!! Bike has 7400 miles on...PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!! |

| A friend of mine had this happen to him also on an o7 Heritage, He was at Sturgis and all the pumps were full except 1 so he pumped there, turns out it was a diesel pump, we still give him crap to this day, not saying that is what happened to you but his did the same thing, also are you sure it wasnt e 85, that would make it not run or at least very poorly also, sure sounds like it might have something to do with when you got gas, maybe the store had water in the gas or very dirty gas that plugged your filter, I would start there, also did you check and see if it has spark? Join HOG free towing back to the dealer
In your case the bike is under warranty so take it to them and have
them fix it, and hand them the bill for the tow, ask HD to cover it.
Probably won't but WTF can't hurt.
Dealer will probably ask why you didn't get them to come get you...
Several things can go wrong such as lectronics, ignition switch, ECM, bad main breaker
You have the warranty power so use it!

| The pumps are usually green for Diesel...this one was not....I checked all I cound think of..about Hog....I have hog and they called the tow truck for me I paid the driver 100.00 but he would not bill HOG and could not take to a dealer as they were closed....so now I have it loaded in my trailer taking a day off work to take up to the dealer and listen and wait on their bull****!!!!
Would have felt better if it was wrong fuel...would be my fault instead of a new machine with 7400 miles that won't f&^%(*# run!!!!!! Burns my ass!!!! |

| Well I'd report that guy to HOG, he shouldn't be doing that sounds like he just knew you had problems and bent ya over... not nice....
Dealers should have a hotline, if they are worth anything for service breakdowns but in this economy like many they cut the wrong service out...
Hopefully it's nothing more than a bad relay, blown maxi fuse or something simple at least HD has to pick up the tab vs you picking up the tab.
I'd ask hog for reimbursement on the towing if you qualify, I think basic hogis 40 miles then hog gold or some such is 100 miles to a dealer so it depends on the distance.
I've hauled buddies back plenty of miles with my trailer, they've come and pulled my butt out of a jam too using my truck and trailer.
Ya gotta find a friend to ride with that owns one LOL

Ya gotta find a friend to ride with that owns one LOL | The dealer I have most certainly not coming out on Sunday evening...lol...and just never wanted to call a friend of mine who has a pick up and trailer or a family member to get my truck & trailer and come get us on a Sunday evening.
I reported the "bubba wrecker service" to Hog and they will send a letter to me and send original reciept back to get my 100 bucks back.
Took day off yesterday to tale bike up to dealer...bad day again...I have hauled a many of biles...mine came loose from strap in trailer fell over broke my f*(&^%$ mirror on the fairing, after a state patrol pulled me over to tell me I had an expired tag on trailer...lol...lucky I never got a citation...
Finally got to Dealer and Jerry the Ser. Mgr. ask "what was wrong?" I told him real bad day and Sunday too...lol...he says "yea I know what you mean been messed up for him last Two weeks"...lol....we will see what they find. |

| Update on Dead Bike!!!..lol...Got the bike back from Dealer this past Friday. They had bike since Tuesday and told me the reason the bike stopped running was the clip came loose on fuel Barrel from where they done the recall last summer on the cracked fuel barrels. What a pain in the ass!!! But at least the bike is running for now...we will see...was going to buy a Thindermax auto tune for it,but going to wait and see the bike is going to run ok first, befor i spend 800. more on a tuner. |
